Community Giving

Upward Bound program celebrates fifty years of being part of the MSU community. Since 1966, we have helped graduate over 4,000 talented first-generation students and over 97% entered a post-secondary educational institution. We know that MSU’s Upward Bound means a lot to you and our community and we hope to be able to help at least another 4,000 youth in the next fifty years!

Please consider making a gift to MSU’s Upward Bound today. As you can imagine, any amount goes a long way! You can make your tax-deductible gift by following this link: Gifts to MSU Upward Bound.

In the spring of 2013, Dr. and Mrs. Yokoyama gifted Upward Bound with an endowment of $50,000.

The money will be used for:

  • Partaking in college preparatory activities;
  • Study abroad experiences;
  • Programmatic needs;
  • Life skills development; and
  • Initiatives that develop academic and leadership skills.

Upward Bound would like to thank Dr. and Mrs. Yokoyama for their generous gift that will be used for years to come to aid the success of the program and its students.
